americans in london
Dec. 21st, 2004 04:19 pmmy brother (the one i actually like!) is coming for xmas with his family and going to london and driving up from gatwick - i am trying to come up with a list of practicle advise/survival guide - please feel free to contribute!!!!
Some UK survival tips for Americans:
1. always look down at the road junctions – especially when walking in London
2. Roundabouts – give way to everything on your right
3. single dotted white line across path – rolling stop
4. double dotted white line across path – merge right
5. sales staff are NOT there to be helpful
6. if someone is ignoring you don’t speak louder, move closer and speak softly
7. there is never any need to shout to each other (only foreigners do)
8. track suits – only if you want to be mistaken for an eastender
